Contractor killed when bucket truck touches power line on Observatory St in Acres Homes

A worker was killed Wednesday afternoon around 5 p.m. when the bucket-lift truck he was in contacted power lines in the 8500 block of Observatory Street in Acres Homes. Houston firefighters say the bucket was being raised into trees that hid the lines. A second worker was taken to a hospital, and rescuers had to wait for CenterPoint to cut power before reaching the victim. CenterPoint says the crew was a third-party contractor; the worker's name has not been released. Source: HFD via KPRC, KHOU, FOX26.
