Bomb and gun threat locks down Alief's Hastings High School on Cook Rd; campus cleared, nothing found

Hastings High School in Alief was locked down Wednesday afternoon after a bomb and gun threat was called in to the campus on Cook Road, Houston police said. Officers searched the school room by room and found nothing, and the lockdown was lifted a little after 4 p.m. before students were dismissed. No injuries or arrests were reported. The heavy police presence delayed Alief ISD bus service districtwide and briefly disrupted access to the early voting center at the Alief ISD Center next door, which reopened by about 4:45 p.m. Sources: Houston Chronicle, KPRC 2, ABC13, FOX 26, KHOU 11 (HPD, Pct. 5 Constable, Alief ISD).
