Body found in grass along Beaumont Highway near Sheldon; HCSO says death may be tied to auto-pedestrian crash

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was found in the grass along Beaumont Highway in northeast Harris County early Friday. Deputies were called to the area next to the 14300 block of Beaumont Highway shortly before 6 a.m., in a grassy area just south of Sheldon Lake and Sheldon Lake State Park. Investigators believe the death may be connected to an auto-pedestrian crash, and the sheriff's office Vehicular Crimes Division is handling the investigation.
