Lawn crew finds skeletal remains in vacant lot off W. Sam Houston Pkwy N; HPD homicide investigating

Human skeletal remains were discovered Saturday in a brushy vacant lot at 4477 W. Sam Houston Parkway North in northwest Houston. A lawn crew working on the property came across the remains and called authorities. Houston police homicide detectives are investigating, and shoes and pieces of clothing were found on and near the remains. Investigators have not said who the person was, how long the remains had been there, or how the person died; the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will perform an autopsy.
