Man critically hurt after being robbed, beaten with club near Westpark & S. Gessner

A man is in critical condition after Houston police say he was robbed and hit in the head with a stick or club Wednesday afternoon in Westchase. Officers found him with a head wound in his vehicle at a shopping center near S. Gessner Road and Westpark Drive shortly before 3 p.m.; investigators believe the attack happened at a nearby apartment complex and that he drove himself to the lot. An early report of a road-rage shooting was not confirmed, and police say no shots were fired. The victim named and described his attacker to officers; no arrest yet.
