HPD fatally shoots man wanted on child sex warrant on Yupondale in Spring Branch

Houston police fatally shot a man wanted for indecency with a child during a warrant attempt at Peace Love Dogs, a pet care business in the 9600 block of Yupondale Drive in Spring Branch, around 9:30 p.m. Monday, Chief Noe Diaz said. Crime Suppression officers located him at work with a drone; after he tried to jump a rear fence and locked himself in a dark back room with a weapon, officers and a K-9 entered and ordered him to drop it. Police say he moved as if to injure the dog and officers fired, striking him two or three times. He was pronounced dead at the scene after CPR; no officers or the K-9 were hurt. His identity was not released. Source: ABC13 Houston; KPRC/Click2Houston; FOX 26 Houston; KHOU 11; Houston Chronicle.
