4-year-old girl fatally shot on Terra Reserve Place in Memorial West

Houston police say a 4-year-old girl was fatally shot Tuesday evening in the 300 block of Terra Reserve Place in Memorial West. Officers called around 5:45 p.m. found the child dead from a gunshot wound and her mother, about 30, also shot; she was hospitalized in critical condition and is expected to survive. Police say there had been a custody hearing earlier that day, and that the girl’s stepfather and a babysitter were in the home, heard shots, and found both wounded.
