ICE vehicle strikes man during enforcement pursuit on Clay Road near Highway 6

A 48-year-old man was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle driven by an ICE agent during an immigration enforcement operation on Clay Road around 7:20 a.m. Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. HCSO said agents were pursuing a driver with an active warrant who allegedly drove the wrong way on Highway 6 before running off on foot; that driver is still at large. The passenger was hit as an agent tried to box in the vehicle near a building and is believed to have a broken leg; he remains in ICE custody at the hospital. Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones called for ICE to release all video of the incident, and HCSO's investigation is ongoing.
